Our favorite local places to Ride

At 312 feet, Clermont’s Sugarloaf Mountain Road is home to the area’s largest climb. This short but extremely intense route is on many cyclists’ bucket list, and people from all over the state make their voyage here to take on this 14% grade. Nearby is the National Training Center, a state-of-the-art multi-sport fitness facility that serves as a mecca for triathletes from around the country. Triathletes travel to Central Florida from all over the world to train in this area.

The Orlando Bicycle Beltway is one of the newest additions to the area’s robust paved trail system, built as part of an $80 million investment in neighborhood infrastructure. Orlando’s mayor is a passionate politician and cyclist who is leading the charge to make our city even more bicycle-friendly.

Mechanics

Ian McNamara - Mechanic

Ian is the lead mechanic at velofix Orlando. As an active cyclist for about 7 years, he grew up in Connecticut and moved to Florida when he was 16. He started out as a road cyclist and then transitioned to mountain biking.

Ian has a passion for cycling. He’s been working on bikes for about 4 years now.

If you’re visiting with Ian at our warehouse shop, please ask about meeting our shop mascot. Meatloaf the shop cat is a regular at velofix Orlando.

When not providing world class customer service, Ian is out riding or enjoying the finer things in life like his epic search for the best coffee house or bakery in Central Florida.
